Best B2B databases for the Benelux

Vergleich

The short answer

If you sell across Belgium and the Netherlands, the question to ask a vendor is not how many companies they have. It is which register they are built on. The Benelux is not one data market, and most tools sold with "Benelux coverage" are built on one national register, or on neither.

For Dutch registry depth, Company.info is the reference point. For Belgian registry depth, Companyweb and Trends Top are. For both markets in one workspace with buying signals attached, Bizzy. For contact data across Europe, Cognism or Apollo. For identifying the companies already on your website, Leadinfo.

Benelux is three registers, not one market

The Netherlands keeps the Handelsregister at KVK. On 1 January 2026 it held 2,599,668 vestigingen, that is establishments rather than legal entities (KVK, retrieved 18 September 2026). KVK sells access directly: a Dataservice connection costs €1,279 and a Handelsregister extract €9.60, and there is a free open data set with basic company details (KVK, retrieved 18 September 2026).

Belgium keeps the Kruispuntbank van Ondernemingen. It is structured differently: an enterprise gets one enterprise number, and each physical location gets a separate establishment unit number. Annual accounts sit with the Balanscentrale at the National Bank, and legal events are published in the Belgisch Staatsblad. Three sources, not one.

Luxembourg keeps the RCS, and it is usually the part of "Benelux" that quietly gets left out.

This matters more than it sounds. When a vendor claims "3 million companies in the Benelux", that number can mean establishments, legal entities, VAT registrations, or profiles derived from websites. Those are four different things and they are not comparable. Before you compare two coverage figures, check that they count the same unit.

Matrix of eleven B2B data tools against five source types: Belgian register, Dutch register, Luxembourg, web-derived and contact data. Bizzy and Ad Hoc Data are the only two with both the Belgian and the Dutch register marked as core of the product.

Built on the Dutch register

Company.info is part of FD Mediagroep and an official KVK service provider, which is the strongest sourcing position available in the Dutch market. It publishes more than 500 data attributes per company and sells a portal, APIs, a KYC product, and Marktview for B2B targeting.

Its pricing is worth reading closely, because the portal separates records you can view from records you can export. Lite is €419 per year for 84 viewable and 1,800 exportable, Business €1,034 for 240 and 4,200, Pro €2,079 for 720 and 12,600. Marktview, the product actually built for building target lists, starts at €6,480 per year for two users and 15,000 exports, with Pro at €12,960 for three users and 30,000. Billing is annual, with two months' notice. We look at those export ceilings in detail in Bizzy vs Company.info.

CompanyData takes the opposite approach: registry data from 1,200 or more official sources across 200 countries, claiming 375 million companies worldwide and 84 million in Europe, with self-service starting at €25 per month.

DATA-collectief sells the Dutch market on credits: 500 for €175, 1,000 for €275, 2,500 for €475, 5,000 for €825. Straightforward if you know exactly how many records you need and do not need them refreshed. It does not publish where its data comes from.

Built on the Belgian register

Companyweb is the Belgian incumbent for credit checks, at €735 per year, and covers Belgian, Dutch and Luxembourg companies. Its strength is financial history rather than list building. For the Belgian tools side by side, see Belgian prospecting tools compared.

Trends Top lists around 1.7 million Belgian companies built on filed accounts, strongest at the larger end of the market. Plans run from €300 per year (Consult) through €620 (Marketing or Finance) to €1,050 (Business, two users), with extra exports at €0.55 per address. We set it against Bizzy in Bizzy vs Trends Top.

Bizzy is built on official registers in Belgium and the Netherlands together with 31 other countries, and adds signals on top: hiring activity, website changes, filings and website visitors. Data is stored primarily on servers in the EU. Where it is weaker: it carries contact details for decision-makers but publishes no verified mobile-number counts, so if phone-verified direct dials are your bottleneck, pair it with a contact-data provider rather than expecting it to replace one. Bizzy issues no credit rating.

Built on both markets

Only a few tools are genuinely registry-native in Belgium and the Netherlands rather than strong in one and thin in the other.

Ad Hoc Data, based in Brussels, is one. It runs two selection tools, one on official business registrations and one on AI-enriched website data, claiming 3.5 million or more AI-generated profiles and more than 15,000 customer organisations. Pricing is in bundles and not published on the homepage.

Company.info covers both, though its centre of gravity is clearly Dutch. Companyweb covers both, with its centre of gravity clearly Belgian. Bizzy treats them as one workspace.

If a vendor tells you they cover the Benelux, ask which register each country's data comes from and when it was last refreshed. The answer separates the four above from the rest quickly.

Built on the web rather than a register

Dataprovider.com, based in Groningen, indexes more than 400 million domains a month and derives a company dataset from business websites. This is genuinely useful for technographics, e-commerce signals and reach, and genuinely different from register data: a company with no website is invisible to it, and a company with three websites can appear three times.

Clay is not a database at all. It is an orchestration layer that buys from other providers and runs waterfall enrichment. It is a good answer when you already know which sources you trust and want to combine them, and an expensive answer when you are hoping it will solve coverage for you. We set it against Apollo in Clay vs Apollo.

Contact data and website visitors

Cognism sells phone-verified mobile numbers and says its strongest coverage sits in the UK, DACH, Benelux, the Nordics, France and Spain. Apollo competes on volume and price rather than European depth. Both are covered in B2B data providers in Europe, compared.

Leadinfo does something different: it identifies the companies already visiting your website. Pricing is tiered by how many companies it identifies per month, from €49 to €499 per month on annual billing, and it claims 220 million companies across 195 countries with 45 datapoints each. It reports identifying roughly 30% of visitors, which is the number to hold it to.

For credit and risk specifically in both markets, GraydonCreditsafe is the established name. Bizzy partners with Creditsafe rather than competing on credit reporting.

Which to choose

You sell only in Belgium. Companyweb for credit history, Trends Top for the larger end, Bizzy if you want prospect lists and signals rather than reports.

You sell only in the Netherlands. Company.info if you need KVK-sourced depth and can live with the export ceilings, DATA-collectief if you want a fixed number of records cheaply, CompanyData if you want registry data through an API at a low entry price.

You sell across both. This is the narrow field. Bizzy, Ad Hoc Data, or Company.info plus a Belgian source. Check refresh dates per country before you sign.

Your bottleneck is phone numbers, not companies. Cognism, and treat the company database as a separate purchase.

You want to know who is already interested. Leadinfo, or Bizzy if you want visitor identification inside the same workspace as the prospect list.

What to check before you sign

  1. Which register, per country. Not "Benelux coverage" as a single claim.

  2. The unit of account. Establishments, legal entities and VAT registrations give very different totals for the same market.

  3. The export ceiling, not the view ceiling. A prospecting workflow hits the export limit long before the view limit.

  4. Refresh frequency per source. Register data and website-derived data age at completely different rates.

  5. Where the data is stored, and whether the contract says so.

  6. Notice period. Annual billing with two months' notice is common in this market and easy to miss.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best B2B database for the Benelux?

There is no single answer, because Belgium and the Netherlands have separate registers. For Dutch registry depth, Company.info. For Belgian registry depth, Companyweb or Trends Top. For both in one workspace with signals attached, Bizzy.

Is KVK data free?

Partly. KVK publishes a free open data set with basic company details. Fuller access is paid: a Dataservice connection costs €1,279 and a single Handelsregister extract €9.60.

Why do coverage numbers differ so much between vendors?

Because they count different things. The Dutch register counted 2,599,668 establishments on 1 January 2026, which is not the same as the number of legal entities or the number of VAT-registered businesses. Web-derived datasets count domains. Always ask which unit a figure uses.

Do any of these cover Luxembourg properly?

Few do. Companyweb includes Luxembourg companies, and Bizzy covers it as one of 33 countries. Most tools marketed as Benelux are really Belgium and the Netherlands.
