Staatsbladmonitor: what it is, what it shows and the alternatives

Tips

The short answer

Staatsbladmonitor (staatsbladmonitor.be) is a free, Dutch-language website run by Business Interfacing, a private company in Heverlee (Leuven). It is not a government service. It shows a file per Belgian company with its Official Gazette publications, filed annual accounts, financial ratios, activities and, after free registration, its directors, and it emails you when a company on your watchlist is published in the Gazette. Its API is marked free and beta, with 100 free requests a day. The official source remains the Gazette's own search on ejustice.just.fgov.be, which is free but sends no alerts. On 30 September 2026 its home page counted 0 Gazette publications in the previous 28 days, and its newest incorporation list dated from 13 March 2026, so test it before you rely on the alerts. Paid monitoring starts at 19 euros a month (Data.be, billed yearly, excl. VAT).

Everything about Staatsbladmonitor below was read on staatsbladmonitor.be itself and checked against the official Gazette search on 30 September 2026.

What Staatsbladmonitor shows

The site is in Dutch only. Its tagline promises company information, annual accounts and financial analysis, and it is built around four things:

  • Company file. Per enterprise number: name, legal form, status and legal situation, registered address, activity codes, the list of Gazette publications with their category (for example resignations and appointments, or capital and shares), filed annual accounts with a few key figures, and financial ratios. Directors are shown only to registered users; registration is free.

  • Watchlist. Add a company and you get an email each time it is published in the Gazette. The site says it checks the Gazette's reference database of legal entities every day, by enterprise number.

  • Daily lists. New annual accounts filed with the National Bank, with profit or loss and gross margin, and new incorporations with address and enterprise number. Incorporations appear on weekdays only, because the Gazette does not publish at weekends.

  • API. Labelled "free/beta" in the menu, with 100 free requests a day. The documentation sits behind a login.

There is no pricing page, premium plan or checkout anywhere on the site.

Official or not: how it relates to the Gazette and the KBO

Staatsbladmonitor is a third-party layer on top of public sources. It is not a source in its own right.

  • The Official Gazette. Deeds and extracts of Belgian legal entities are published in the Annexes to the Belgian Official Gazette, which anyone can search free at ejustice.just.fgov.be by enterprise number, name, postcode, address, subject, publication number, publication date and legal form. That publication is what counts legally: until a deed is published, it generally cannot be relied on against third parties. Staatsbladmonitor lists the date and category of each publication; the deed itself is the PDF on the Gazette site. How to search the Official Gazette walks through the form.

  • The KBO. The company file says its register data was obtained from the KBO under the Flemish open data licence. On the file we opened, that data carried the database version "kbo202512_06", a snapshot from December 2025. KBO Public Search, the register's own free lookup, shows the situation as of the previous day. The Belgian company register guide explains how to read it.

  • The National Bank. The annual accounts list names the National Bank of Belgium as its source. The accounts themselves are free to download from the National Bank; see how to look up Belgian annual accounts.

The site's own disclaimer is clear about its status: the data is informational, it cannot guarantee that all data is correct, and the figures are indicative only.

How current it was on 30 September 2026

A monitoring service is only as good as its feed, so we checked:

  • Home page counters: 0 publications in the legal entities annex and 0 incorporations in the last 28 days.

  • Incorporations list: 406 companies on 13 March 2026. Every later weekday we tried, up to 29 September, was empty.

  • A test company: the Proximus file showed a last publication on 19 February 2026. The official Gazette lists a resignations and appointments publication for Proximus on 7 May 2026.

  • Annual accounts: still current, with 359 filings listed for 27 September 2026.

The watchlist emails rely on the same Gazette feed, and the site posts no notice about a pause. Before you rely on it, compare a company you know has published recently against the official search.

Terms to read before you sign up

  • Reuse. Storing the site's information in a database, or using it for anything other than information, needs the operator's prior written permission. Personal use and short quotes with the source named are allowed. It is not a data feed for your CRM.

  • Your data. The privacy statement says registration data may be used for marketing, including direct marketing, and passed on to commercial partners.

  • Operator. Business Interfacing, Waversebaan 80, 3001 Heverlee. The site does not print an enterprise number.

Free start; paid plans on the pricing page

Bizzy is our product. Data.be and Companyweb prices were read on their own pricing pages on 30 September 2026, Trends Top's on its rates page on 14 September 2026. If you want publications in your own software, the KBO API guide covers the official and commercial options; the Gazette itself has no API.

Which one fits

  • You check a company now and then. The Gazette search and KBO Public Search are free and official. Nothing else is needed.

  • You follow a handful of customers or suppliers. Staatsbladmonitor costs nothing if its Gazette feed is current; test it first. Otherwise a weekly search by enterprise number, or a paid alert service, does the job.

  • You manage credit risk. Companyweb is built for that, and Trends Top has a finance plan; both monitor the companies you follow.

  • You prospect. The question then is not one company but which companies in your territory had a new director, a capital increase or a move this month. How to track director changes covers the free routes.

That last question is where a data platform earns its place. Bizzy shows the Official Gazette publications of every Belgian legal entity, filterable by type and date, next to its KBO data and the accounts filed with the National Bank, so you see a prospect's recent changes before you call, and it pushes the companies you select to HubSpot. You can start free; the plans are on the pricing page.
